Meet Your Guide: Nancy McKay
Nancy is passionate about helping women recover their inner wisdom, healing from burnout, grief, trauma and addiction so they can finally live in peace. She recovers out loud, smashing the stigma of addiction, and empowering women on their recovery journey with the wisdom of horses.
She has been in recovery from alcohol use disorder since 2009 and has been an ovarian cancer survivor since 2015. She is a Certified Wayfinder Life Coach, Certified Equus Coach Master Facilitator®, and a SHE RECOVERS® and founded Women Empowered Recovery (fka Amazing Outlook Coaching) in 2018 at the age of 61.
About the Accommodations
Happy Dog Ranch is an authentic working horse rescue facility - not a luxury resort, but a place of genuine healing and transformation. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully appointed, offering the perfect blend of coziness and functionality.
Each woman enjoys her own private bedroom, creating space for personal reflection while still fostering connection during group activities. Most rooms share well-maintained bathrooms (maximum two women per bathroom).
The ranch offers a unique opportunity to experience the powerful healing presence of rescue horses in a natural, unpretentious environment. Here, transformation happens not through luxury amenities, but through authentic connection with the horses, the land, and your own inner wisdom.

Changes/Cancellations
We understand that plans can change and emergencies come up. However, due to the nature of our services, we have a strict no-refund policy.
No Refunds: all bookings are final and no refunds will be issued for cancellations or changes. This includes family, health, death, and other emergency situations.
Travel Insurance: To protect your investment, travel insurance is required (and easy to get!) in order to cover unexpected cancellations, delays, or other unforeseen circumstances. We don’t ask for proof of insurance as it is for your own protection due to our no-refund policy.
